Where to find metafields in Shopify

If you’re looking for your metafields in Shopify, you can access them directly from your admin settings. Shopify stores newly created metafields as "unstructured metafields" by default, so you may need to navigate a few steps to view them.

To find your metafields:

1. Go to Settings in your Shopify admin (bottom left).

2. Click Metafields and metaobjects.

3. Select the resource you want to view, such as Products, Orders or Customers.

4. At the top of the page, click View unstructured metafields.

Here, you’ll see all metafields that haven’t been defined yet.

If you want to properly structure and manage your metafields, click Add definition. This allows you to create reusable metafield definitions with validation, making them easier to use across your store.

You can also pin metafields to a resource, so you can view and edit them directly on pages like the product page in your Shopify admin.
