WooCommerce Importer for Shopify allows you to migrate your orders from WooCommerce to Shopify. Although there aren't many options, there are important things to keep in mind.
Summary
This page provides details on the options available for importing orders, handling customer and staff notifications, managing refunds, and migrating order notes.
Note: Importing up to 100 orders is free; additional orders may require a payment. See our pricing page for more information.
Orders
To import your orders from WooCommerce to Shopify, check the box as pointed out in the image below:
Notifications
Your customers won't receive any notifications for migrated orders. However, you will receive notifications! Luckily, it's easy to switch off. Go to your Shopify admin and click the following links:
1. Click 'Settings' in your Shopify Admin (bottom left)
2. Click 'Notifications in the left menu
3. Click 'Staff notifications'
4. For each recipient, click the three dots and click 'Turn off'
Once your migration is complete, you can follow the same steps and use step 4 to 'Turn on' the notifications again.
Refunds
Currently, Shopify does not allow backdating refunds, so any historical refunds will show the date of import instead of the original refund date.
Order notes
Note: Importing order notes may significantly slow down the migration process.
Sometimes you have important information in your WooCommerce order notes and you want to migrate this information as well. Think about staff comments and tracking information.
Store Importer allows you to migrate your WooCommerce order notes to Shopify, but it's important to know that this will slow down the process a lot! If you still need your order notes after reading this warning, you can select the option as pointed out below:
Your imported order notes will be stored as a ‘metafield’ in Shopify, which is a specialized data field on the order detail page. This makes it easy for you to access historical notes directly within each order.
